A smooth start under difficult circumstances
On March 31st, 2020, John Swetnam placed the first crop in two new DACS-ventilated barns — just as Covid shut down travel and physical support.
“We purchased DACS electrical panels with built-in ACS6 controllers. Installation was straightforward, and DACS supported us online, checking connections and even performing remote fault-finding. That gave us peace of mind and a smooth start when the chicks arrived,” says John.
A different feel in the barn
“We have now been in operation for nearly 20 months and my expectations have been fully met. The air mixing function in the DACS inlets creates a very stable climate and excellent litter conditions. You can simply feel the difference when entering the barn, and my propane bill is lower,” John explains.
Performance in extreme conditions
“In our cross-ventilated barns we often experience uneven air distribution. In the DACS barns we maintain good litter and stable climate throughout the year. Even during periods with big birds, high humidity and temperatures reaching 35°C, daily gain was maintained. That really demonstrates the strength of the system,” John concludes.
